Why Did We Choose Trans Lifeline?

Trans people have been and continue to be our friends, family and contributing members of our nation with a vibrant culture. Despite this, the trans community has seen their civil rights and access to education and healthcare systematically stripped away for years. Approximately 40% of the trans community has attempted suicide in their lifetime — nearly nine times the attempted suicide rate in the U.S. population (4.6%).*  

To reverse these trends and uplift our trans brothers and sisters, resources developed by trans people for other trans people need to be more easily accessible. Trans Lifeline - a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering the nation’s only crisis hotline and microgrants for trans people in crisis - has provided these resources for nearly a decade.
